Life is really mysterious. Especially, people. You don't know what goes on in their minds. But no matter where you stand, one thing may be constant: everyone has struggles, joys, and dreams.
Amélie (2001)
From an omniscient point of view, the story is narrated cleverly. Despite having few dialogues, its perfectly written plot provides answers to every line unsaid. It presents the City of Paris with such beautiful visuals. The carefully crafted shots and rapid-changing of scenes further helped the film achieve its playful, yet mysterious aura. Showing the littlest of details, it makes every character, not only its main protagonist, an interesting human, with kindness and faults. Though Amelie still shines through every scene the brightest. Written with many peculiarities, she makes viewers adore her even in the beginning of the film. Audrey Tautou, with her unique smirk, stare, and smile (as she occasionally breaks the fourth wall), instantly makes Amelie an iconic character. It is simply lovely in so many levels, it effortlessly makes it to my most-favorite films list.Amélie (2001)
