The small house appeals to my minimalist taste. Its signature vintage teal glass-door welcomes you as soon as you stepped inside the place. Quite far from the city, but everything about it gives you a sense of warmth that makes you feel instantly at home. The walls are painted white. But its simplicity doesn't end there. Adorable furniture matched the walls, too. Some of Neri's personal stuff are also displayed. There's no television or internet, but there are a couple of books for guests to read.
Cooking is not a problem. Since the house is groomed with complete cooking utensils, basic kitchenware, stove, and even oven. We brought paper plates so we decided to use them, but there was no scarcity of plates. We shared a breakfast kind of meal for dinner. Scrumptious.
All the basic necessities are available: bathroom (1), bedroom (two queen-sized beds, and two extra pull-out mattresses), and the like. Same as with its first floor, upstair is simple, but decorated beautifully. It really invites you to just sit, relax, and enjoy your family and friends' company.
We had fun talking all night, while the kids slept soundly. It was, indeed, a perfect place to forget about the city for a while. Neri's Cottage is priced at 3,500 PHP. A modest price for a satisfying overnight stay. Not to mention, we get to order Neri's delicious gourmet tuyo in a jiffy.
